STEP 2: ADD MEDIUM
Now add the medium you want. There are n number of mediums available in the market. You can use any but the best one to use is gel medium. It mixes well with all colors and gives the paint a glossy sheen. You can also use Matte gel but it will give your painting a dull and matte finish. Glossy one should be preferable.
STEP 3: LOAD YOUR KNIFE
The next step is to load the knife with more broad strokes to give an impression of thick leaves like background. Make your front look in multiple layers from cool to warm and light to dark to create a variety and depth in painting and present it like an original look.
STEP 4: PAINTING THE FLOWERS
Now the main step is painting the flowers on the tree using the knife. The knife type straight edge and round shape should be used. If you have some other options of knife use them to create the natural effect. Pull and push the paint to create the form of flowers with the texture also. The focus is to create a flower like texture using the knife not to make the flower exactly like you see.
STEP 5: WORK ON CANVAS SIDES
The work should be done equally on the sides of the canvas so that it will not look odd one out. You can paint the sides of canvas white, black or any matching color to your painting. It would be great if you extend the painting to the sides of canvas so that it will look symmetric on from all the sides. That would be the best solution.
STEP 6: USE VARNISH
The last and final step to do after several weeks when painting becomes completely dry. Apply professional high quality glossy varnish to your painting. The positive aspect of applying varnish to your painting is to protect your painting from dirt, dust and UV rays.
